I’m a qualified and licensed immigration adviser with over 25 years of experience in global mobility consulting, helping people visit, study, work, and make New Zealand their home.
From 2013 to 2022, I taught the Graduate Diploma in New Zealand Immigration Advice — the qualification required for all new immigration advisers to gain their licence. Having taught many of the best in the profession, I know what excellent representation looks like and take pride in delivering advice that is both accurate and practical, tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
I first came to New Zealand as a child, immigrating from the United Kingdom. Since then, I’ve lived and worked around the world, experiences that have deepened my understanding of what clients need when they’re navigating major life transitions. I bring that perspective — along with entrepreneurial thinking, creative problem-solving, and perseverance — to every case I take on, ensuring the best possible outcomes for my clients.
Testimonials
Working with Cath has been an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the very first consultation she combined deep expertise in New Zealand immigration rules with a warm, reassuring manner that instantly put me at ease.
Every step of my visa was clearly mapped out, and Cath anticipated potential hurdles before they became problems, saving me both time and stress. Communication was always prompt and thorough; Cath never left an email unanswered or a question unaddressed. Her genuine enthusiasm for my move (including suggestions on climbing clubs and local networks) went far beyond the formal scope of an adviser. Thanks to Cath’s diligence I received my resident visa far sooner than expected (in just two weeks!) I would recommend Cath without reservation. [Fabio]Without reservation, we highly recommend Catherine de Monchy as an immigration consultant. We found her professionalism and working knowledge of the immigration process invaluable.
From the beginning, Catherine was a leader and a champion. She clearly outlined what was required, how much it would cost and how long it would take. She was always polite and friendly, while patiently answering all of our questions and concerns. Catherine skillfully outlined all documents that were required and throughout the process, she was realistic in her optimism for success and outlined both the strengths and the weaknesses of our positions. Without a doubt, Catherine de Monchy is a dependable and knowledgeable professional. Catherine’s integrity and insight will put any applicant in the best position possible. {Kelly]Somewhere between joining Expat in NZ groups on Facebook and signing up to job alerts from the Education Gazette, we came across the mind blowing spectacle that is Immigration NZ. We attended a webinar one evening, that was essentially a monotone voice behind a screen with someone reading a script and ruthlessly wanting to take our cash for some kind of recruitment and visa deal…and we started to get cold feet. This didn’t feel right. We had this romantic vision of what NZ offered and felt this was totally at odds with that.
And then, out of nowhere, Cath popped up on one of those Facebook groups. Cath was the complete opposite of this corporate immigration company and really offered us her warm, personal side. We zoomed, felt totally at ease with her… Cath was the first in a series of steps that have led us to where we are now. And the first of a series of events that made me believe in destiny. If ever in my life did I need to believe that there was something else out there, then this is it. Cath is not just our immigration adviser, she has become our friend. And we cannot wait to meet her in person. Life is all about the people you meet along the way. [The Family Rhino blog]
